January is traditionally a quiet time at Grandma Emily’s – time to catch up on our filing, do in depth employee training, test new recipes, bring in a consultant to help us improve our procedures and usage of resources. We do all that and more – except for the filing. That we procrastinate doing til about June.
This year, the big news is a new oven that is expected in our facility within a week or so. It has been under construction since the spring of 2010. A wonderful collaboration between the engineering mind of Harold Bouchard of Automation Jalbert, the oven making expertise of Martin Lapointe – who is responsible for the long running Doyon ovens, the pioneering spirit of various component manufacturers and myself, the oven is research and development in its purest form.
